Hello guys! I am new here and need help with finding the optimal graphics card for my pc. From what I understand afterdawn is the place to ask! My system: HP Compaq dc7600 Convertible Minitower CPU Type Intel Pentium 4 640, 3200 MHz (16 x 200) Memory Type 4 x DDR2 SDRAM tot. 2Gb 2 HDD on 7200 rpm 1 cd/dvd drive The PSU gives out 365W The slot for the graphics card is a PCI-E x16 This sets some limits. I am guessing that I would do best by finding an old Radeon HD 3650? But I would like something alittle more high-end. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
Why did you create this thread to afterdawn in finnish? There is a large english-speaking forum as well. Anyhow, in my opinion the most reasonable options are Radeon HD 4650/70, which shouldn't be to high-end for your processor. They fit the slot and work on low-powered PSUs without additional cables to it.
I would recommend either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102871 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102874 Depending on your budget of course. Either way these cards should draw little power from your psu as they dont require a PCIE power connector. You should be just at the limit with ur 350W power supply so I'd give it a go.
